Market Cap / FDV
The proportion of current market capitalization compares to market capitalization when meeting max supply.
The closer the Mkt Cap/FDV to 1, the closer the current market capitalization to its fully diluted valuation and vice versa. Learn more about Mkt Cap/FDV here. |

Fully Diluted Valuation
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) = Current Price x Total Supply
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) is the theoretical market capitalization of a coin if the entirety of its supply is in circulation, based on its current market price. The FDV value is theoretical as increasing the circulating supply of a coin may impact its market price. Also depending on the tokenomics, emission schedule or lock-up period of a coin's supply, it may take a significant time before its entire supply is released into circulation. About Honey (HONEY)
Honey is the native stablecoin of the Berachain ecosystem, designed to provide a stable medium of exchange and a base asset for decentralized finance applications.
- The asset is soft-pegged to the US Dollar and is fully collateralized by a basket of whitelisted stablecoins.
- It is deeply integrated into Berachain's architecture, serving as a primary pair for trading and lending across the network.
- The protocol utilizes a governance-driven mechanism where holders of the Berachain Governance Token (BGT) manage collateral parameters and fee structures.
What Is Honey
Honey functions as the native dollar-denominated asset for the Berachain network. It is designed to approximate the value of one USDC, providing users with a stable on-chain representation of the US Dollar. Value moves through the system via a minting and redemption process, where users deposit eligible collateral assets to receive newly issued tokens.
The token is put to work as a foundational layer for Berachain's DeFi ecosystem, acting as a base trading pair on the native exchange and a primary asset for money markets. This utility scales as the ecosystem grows, as increased demand for on-chain stability leads to greater collateral deposits and supply expansion. If demand for the asset rises, the system can accommodate more whitelisted collateral types through governance, further anchoring the token's liquidity.
What Makes Honey Unique
- Proof of Liquidity Integration: Honey is a core component of Berachain's Proof of Liquidity, a method that aligns network security with ecosystem liquidity.
- Multi-Collateral Backing: The system supports a diverse range of collateral, including Tether, PayPal USD, and other whitelisted stablecoins.
- Basket Mode Safety Mechanism: A unique risk control feature that activates if any collateral asset becomes unstable, allowing users to redeem Honey for a proportional share of all assets in the collateral basket.
- Governance-Adjusted Parameters: Minting and redemption rates are configurable by governance, allowing the protocol to adapt to market demand and risk profiles dynamically.
What Can You Use Honey for?
Honey is soft-pegged to the US Dollar and serves several key functions within the digital economy:
- Value retention: The asset allows users to hold a digital, on-chain representation of the US Dollar, which may reduce exposure to the volatility typically associated with the broader cryptocurrency market.
- Yield generation: Users can participate in yield-generating activities by providing Honey as liquidity to decentralized exchanges or by depositing it into lending protocols, as supported by available ecosystem applications.
- Cross-border settlement / value transfer: The token enables international remittances and global trade by allowing for the frictionless, cross-border transfer of US Dollar value through blockchain technology.
- Collateralization: Honey is used as backing for various borrowing and lending protocols within the Berachain ecosystem, where it can also serve as margin for decentralized derivatives trading.
How Does Honey Work?
Honey operates through a system of specialized vaults managed by a central contract known as the HoneyFactory. To mint Honey, a user deposits whitelisted collateral into the appropriate vault. The HoneyFactory then custodies the collateral shares and issues the corresponding amount of Honey tokens to the user's wallet. This process ensures that every token in circulation is backed by at least an equivalent value of external assets.
The protocol implements protocol service fees for both minting and redemption actions. These fees are configurable per collateral asset and are collected to support the ecosystem, with proceeds typically accruing to governance participants. To enhance user experience, the token supports EIP-2612 permit functionality, which allows for gasless transactions where a third party can submit transaction signatures on behalf of the holder.
Team Info and Investors
Honey is a core product of the Berachain ecosystem and is managed through a decentralized governance structure. Decisions regarding collateral whitelisting, risk parameters, and fee structures are determined by holders of the Berachain Governance Token (BGT). This model ensures that the stablecoin's development and stability are overseen by the community and stakeholders of the underlying blockchain network.
